Stylin' Kogal!

Image
Kogal, Kogal, Kogal..... Other than Tsuyome, Ganguro, and Yamamba this is the most known substyle of gyaru. Even more so than the others I think.  I find that this is the gateway style into gyaru. Kogal is the origin of gyaru. Gyaru started with young school girls unsatisfied with their school life; overbearing rules and regulation smothering them! They rebelled with their scrunched socks and shortened skirts in school, and during afterschool hours they were out constructing and evolving the gyaru styles we know today.  The reason I call this a gateway style however, is because of its simplicity. Young babygals naturally gravitate to this style due to its simple construction and minimal makeup. It is more societally acceptable to wear in public since its tame, and this is comforting for the young people who are new to this style as they can slowly ween there way into the fashion style and not be questioned by friends and family.  Kogal, however, is not al...

パラパラ Para Para!

Image
Hiya gals! Today we will be discussing one of the funniest and healthiest aspects of Gyaru.....パラパラ First I need to put out a little disclaimer saying that "Not all Gyaru's need to do Parapara and not all Parapara dancers are Gyaru" but the dance has become synonymous with Gyaru because they made up a lot of the dancers in Parapara's hayday which just so happened to be somewhere around the height Gyaru's popularity! This exercise is good for the shoulders, biceps, calves, and specific upper back muscles.             Parapara(パラパラ) is a dance from japan, popularized in Japanese disco night clubs such as Toa Kaikan, Aoyama"King&Queen", and the famed Juliana Tokyo. Parapara is usually pared with Eurobeat, Techno(Techpara), or Trance(Trapara). Starting in 1986, Parapara has seen many a booms, from its start, the opening of the ever loved Juilana's, and fully sponsored events like Avex and The Tokyo Dome! Now the dance isn't partic...

Gyaru Nails! and Their Many Styles!

Image
Hiya gals! I'm coming at ya with another update! I'm bringing you some Deco nails to go with the co*de you might have put together in the last post. Long, short, whether you're Hime, onee, or Yamamba, you can always have cute deco nails to finish your look! First we have some nice short  nails These types of nails can be decorated to fit many styles. Usually the short nails are reserved for more tame and cutesy styles such as Hime and Onee, but for gals with thin and weak nails like myself it's a good compromise. These nails usually adopt a french tip style, where half the nail remains clear with no paint and the other half is painted along with some simple deco but this is not always the case. They aren't extravagant like other styles, but are merely used as a device to finish the look! Next we have these medium nails! Now these slightly longer nails would also fit a range of  gal styles but mostly more edgy ones.  Now with mid size nails, you want to have s...
